Security measures for the Kashi Vishwanath temple - Gyanvapi mosque complex were satisfactory and the state government has an "open mind" on taking additional measures to ensure foolproof protection to these religious structures, a senior police official said today. Talking to reporters here after reviewing security of the places of worship, Additional Director General of Police, Security, R K Tewari hoped devotees would cooperate with the security measures in view of the threats to the religious shrine from terrorists and subversive forces. On whether the state government proposed to scale up the security measures at the temple-mosque complex and deploy additional forces in view of the threat perceptions, the senior police official said that the security measures for the sensitive religious complex was being reviewed from time to time and additional measures would be considered as and when required.
