Albany Molecular Research, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMRI) announced today that Thomas and Constance D'Ambra have made a personal gift of 75,000 shares of AMRI stock to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). The donation is the third and final installment to honor a $3 million commitment made by the D'Ambras to endow a faculty chair in synthetic organic chemistry. The gift, which was noted in a company filing with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission on December 22, 2006, recognizes support and resources the company received in its early years from RPI and its chemistry department. The D'Ambras made similar donations to RPI in December 2004 and December 2005. Thomas D'Ambra is chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Albany Molecular Research, Inc. and serves as a member of the Presidential Advisors group at RPI. Albany Molecular Research, Inc. is a global drug discovery company that provides chemistry services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and conducts its own proprietary R&D programs.
