By: Arts & Entertainment News

PACCAR (Nasdaq:PCAR) has earned the distinction of being named a leading manufacturing company in ASSEMBLY magazine’s recently published “Assembly Top 50.” PACCAR has generated four consecutive years of double-digit revenue and net income growth. “It is an honor for PACCAR to be named as one of the 50 largest manufacturing companies in the world and be highlighted for its excellent revenue and profit growth record,” said Mark C. Pigott, chairman and chief executive officer. “This industry recognition is a wonderful reflection of the dedication and innovation of PACCAR employees worldwide.”

ASSEMBLY magazine (www.assemblymag.com) ranks the largest global publicly owned manufacturing companies by gross revenue and requires a significant portion of gross revenue to be derived from products designed or assembled in the United States. PACCAR was ranked 38th based on worldwide revenue of $16.45 billion in 2006.

“PACCAR is investing over $1 billion in research, development and capital investment programs, in the medium term, to support enhancements to its high-quality products, efficient facilities, aftermarket services and information technology,” said Tom Plimpton, president. “In addition to the construction of the new engine plant in Mississippi and the parts distribution center in Budapest, Hungary, there are major investments underway at every truck plant to increase manufacturing efficiency by 20 percent. PACCAR is developing new product ranges at DAF, Kenworth and Peterbilt, as well as updating PACCAR Financial’s integrated customer services and enhancing PACCAR’s logistic sourcing activities in Asia.”

PACCAR is a global technology leader in the design, manufacture and customer support of high-quality light-, medium- and heavy-duty trucks under the Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF nameplates. It also provides financial services and information technology and distributes truck parts related to its principal business.
