Aethera NetworksTM AEX-200TM MSxP Verified Interoperable in Existing Large-Scale Metro & Access

Aethera NetworksTM, a globally focused company delivering agile solutions for multi-service access, edge aggregation and wireless backhaul networking, announced today that its AEX-200TM micro-footprint multi-service switching and provisioning platform (μMsXP) has been verified interoperable with next-generation SONET and Carrier Ethernet network elements from other leading vendors, in addition to widely deployed OSIRISTM network elements. Interoperability was verified through extensive service provider lab testing and field-validated by an extended live-traffic deployment at a leading US cable MSO.

Scalable to 10Gbps line-rates within a compact 2U shelf, the AEX-200 enables a high-density mix of MEF-Certified Carrier Ethernet and legacy TDM services, optimized for demanding business access, edge-aggregation and wireless backhaul applications. The AEX-200 is easily provisioned within existing multi-vendor metro/aggregation Unidirectional Path Switched or Subnetwork Connection Protection rings (UPSR/SNCP). Featuring MEF-Certification, the AEX-200 is also interoperable with other vendors’ Carrier Ethernet offerings.

In addition, the AEX-200 offers complete interoperability with internationally deployed OSIRIS MSPs at the management, physical and data planes. Aethera Networks’ AE-VUETM element management system (EMS) provides integrated Carrier Ethernet/TDM service provisioning and standards-based network monitoring.
