AmericanTowns Websites Now Online in 10,000 Towns across America

Ten thousand towns across America now have a way to more efficiently promote community involvement and attention to local issues. AmericanTowns, the largest national network of hyper-local community websites, today announced that it had achieved a milestone by establishing 10,000 “virtual town squares” in communities across America, including the nation’s top 50 DMA’s (excepting New York City). Each of the communities now served by AmericanTowns’ websites can easily post and access information about community events, local businesses, organizations, sports, activities and more.

AmericanTowns makes a wealth of local information available to the more than 190 million people that live in the communities they reach. The company’s websites list a total of 5.75 million community events, including local calendars with over 100,000 items posted by community members. A total of 90,000 community organizations are also listed on the sites, and each one of those organizations now has the ability to increase its reach to local residents with important community updates and information.
