Beyonce's inspiration for perfection stems from jealousy

She’s one of the most successful singers in the music industry, but Beyonce Knowles admits that she feels the pangs of jealousy when she hears a great song by one of her rivals.

The ‘Bootylicious’ singer revealed that there are times when she feels a little ‘sick’ when she hears a great record of one of her rivals, for she wonders why she wasn’t the one making the record.

"When I hear a great new record, especially when it's by someone that I respect and admire, then a part of me is like, 'Why didn't I think of that? Why didn't I make that record?'" Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.

However, Beyonce also thinks that having other people making great records is also a ‘good thing’, for it inspires her to work harder on her next album.

"It makes you sick but in a way it can be a great thing. It makes you want to go back to the lab and start writing again. Maybe it will inspire you to work a little harder," she added.
