Blaze DFM Beefs Up Field Operations in Japan

By: Industry News

Blaze DFM, the electrical DFM company, today announced that Synkom Co. Ltd. has been selected to augment its existing customer support organization in Japan. Earlier this year, Blaze was selected by the Semiconductor Technology Academic Research Consortium (STARC) to provide leakage reduction and lithography simulation software for the STARCAD-CEL 65nm reference flow, thus qualifying Blaze products for use by STARC member companies which include all of the major semiconductor companies in Japan.

“Demand for our leakage power reduction solution has skyrocketed in Japan,” said Mark Fournival, Vice President of Worldwide Sales at Blaze. “Every design team that we’ve spoken to has identified leakage power as one of their top two most critical design challenges. Synkom, with their proven expertise in design closure, will provide our customers with the world class technical support that they have come to expect from Blaze.”

Blaze was the first pure play DFM company to deliver working silicon in March 2006. Blaze created the market for electrical DFM solutions addressing challenges such as leakage power and variability, process variation, chemical mechanical planarization, and lithography simulation and analysis. Blaze provides a comprehensive suite of electrical DFM products that maximize parametric yield of designs implemented with 90nm and below process technologies. Today, Blaze customers include leading companies in all major semiconductor technology regions in the world.

“Many of our customers have expressed grave concerns over the issue of subthreshold leakage power,” said Makoto Hayashi, President of Synkom. “Blaze MO is the only leakage power reduction solution that works on existing designs without changing the chip’s architecture, libraries, logic design, or layout.” More information about Blaze’s leakage power reduction solution can be found at http://www.blaze-dfm.com/reduce.html.
