The New Year didn't quite start on the right note for Britney Spears, especially after she ended up fainting during the party she was hosting at popular nightclub Pure in Caesar's Palace, Las Vegas. The singer and her posse of 27 had been dining at the Social House Asian themed restaurant in Treasure Island before they moved onto Pure where Britney was supposed to host the New Year's Eve party at Pure. After ringing in the 2007, Spears was sitting on a VIP tented-cabana bed overlooking the dance floor at 12:50am talking with one of her male dancers when, as she got up to leave, she hit the floor in a dead faint. "She went into a dead faint and just fell right to the floor," perezhilton.com quoted a source, as saying. That's the time when Spear' personal security kicked in, and with additional security provided by the club, they got her out. However, the drama was not over, for in order to get Britney out of the club safely, and shielding her from the photogs at the same time, two of her dancers wrapped the singer in something like a blanket-hooded poncho "She was being dragged as she wasn't walking under her own speed. It looked as if they wanted to get her up to her hotel room as soon as possible," an eyewitness added. The next day, Spears manager Larry Rudolph insisted to the Las Vegas Review Journal that the singer's collapse had been due to the fact that she had been really tired because of travelling all day, and not because she had been drinking too much. "She's fine. She had been traveling all day. She got real tired. It was a late night for her. [She] wasn't drinking that much," Rudolph told the journal.
