About the Instructor:

Raymond S. Parker, III, Ph.D., Associate Vice-President & Head, Internal Medicine, Sanofi-Aventis US Inc.

For over twenty years, Dr. Ray Parker has focused primarily on patent protection considerations in the pharmaceutical industry, including both firm and corporate experience at Pennie & Edmonds, J&J, Rhone-Poulenc Rorer, Eli Lilly & Company, Aventis Pharmaceuticals, and now sanofi-aventis. The practice has included drafting and prosecuting numerous patent applications, conducting FTO opinions, conducting licensing and due diligence assessments, counseling internal and external clients, managing adversarial actions, and managing and training other patent practitioners. He has also lectured extensively on an assortment of intellectual property issues. Dr. Parker earned his J.D. from New York University and his B.S. and Ph.D. in Chemistry from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
