David Zimmer Joins Pillar Data Systems as New Vice President of Worldwide Channel Sales

Pillar Data Systems, a leading provider of enterprise network storage systems, today announced that David Zimmer, age 48, has joined Pillar as vice president of worldwide channel sales. This appointment bolsters Pillar’s recent momentum in the channel, including the addition of several leading value-added resellers, and increase in indirect channel sales to more than 60 percent of Pillar’s total revenue for 2007.

As vice president of worldwide channel sales at Pillar, Zimmer will be responsible for managing Pillar’s global channel sales organization. He is based out of the company’s Irvine, Calif., office and will be in charge of cultivating and maintaining relationships with the distribution and solution provider partners. Zimmer will report directly to Curtis Wittich, vice president of worldwide sales.

“During the last two years, we have grown Pillar’s Channel Partner Program and experienced a steady increase in our revenue due to contributions from our channel partners,” said Wittich. “This appointment adds momentum to this effort, and we feel fortunate to welcome Dave to our team as we look forward to seeing continued growth in Pillar’s channel business.”

Zimmer has 20 years of experience in building and managing channel teams for companies including, LAN/COMM, Banyan Systems, Norand Corp and Cisco Systems. Most recently, he was senior director of worldwide channel sales and marketing at QLogic, where he was responsible for developing and implementing a global channel strategy that successfully increased channel revenue from $12 million to $200 million in five years.

Zimmer has an M.B.A. and B.S. in Business Computer Systems from California State University, Long Beach.
