Nuclear scientist Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan's sister, Begum Razia Hussain Khan, has said that her brother is committed to the cause of Pakistan. Talking to the Nawa-i-Waqt and The Nation, Begum Razia said that her brother was going through a tough phase in his life, but has not lost hope or courage. "This too will pass,” has been his oft-repeated comment on situations arising in his life, said Begum Razia, adding that the well being of Pakistan was a mission for him. “This is our home and our country, whatever the circumstances would be we should not leave our country,” Dr. Khan's sister said. Asked about what she had to face, she said that even the food that she was giving to her brother was being checked as if she was going to poison her brother. She asked mournfully, “Can a sister poison her brother?” She said that all the family, including his brothers, sisters, his wife Henny Khan and daughters, Ayesha and Dina, are praying for the health of Dr AQ Khan and for his freedom, while maintaining that the security being provided to Dr AQ Khan was necessary in the light of the present situation as he is a national asset. Begum Razia said that government’s attitude had disappointed Dr Khan.
