Efforts would be made to bring the sword of Rani Laxmibai back here from Gwalior and develop a "Jhansi ki Rani" tourism circuit, local MP C P N Singh Yadav said here today. "Rani Laxmibai was a renowned figure and foreign tourists can be attracted to the region by focusing on her contribution in the Indian struggle for independence," he said after laying the foundation stone of 12 projects of Bundelkhand tourism. The sword of Rani Laxmibai is at present in Gwalior and efforts would be made to bring it back to Jhansi to increase the region's tourism potential, he said adding, if required, the matter would also be raised in the Lok Sabha. Tourism Secretary Om Prakash, who was also present on the occasion, said the 12 projects would cost about Rs 19 crore.
