Five newly appointed Judges for the Madras High Court, were sworn in by the Chief Justice A P Shah, at the court complex here today.
The Chief Justice also administered the oath of secrecy to them.
With the induction of these five Judges, the effective strength has gone upto 43 against a sanctioned strength of 49.
Those who were sworn in were K Venkataraman,K Chandru, V Ramasubramanian, S Mani Kumar and A Selvam.
Only Selvam is a serving Judge. He was appointed a District Munsiff in 1986 and elevated as a Sub-Judge in 1989 and in 1990 promoted as District Judge.
