Grammy Award Winning hip hop star Chamillionaire has received a nomination for Best Hip Hop Video for his acclaimed video “Hip Hop Police,” the first single from his much anticipated album, Ultimate Victory, which is due in-stores on Tuesday, September 18th by Chamillitary/Universal Motown. The video, which also features a cameo by legendary hip hop icon Slick Rick, was directed by award winning lensman Marc Klasfeld and depicts Chamillionaire in a number of guises as he humorously addresses the issue of unfair hip hop scrutiny. BET and MTV music fans have already made it one of the most popular clips of the year, with “Hip Hop Police” soaring all the way to the #1 spot on MTV’s flagship countdown show, Total Request Live this week. Currently on the September Cover of The Source Magazine, music critics have been raving about Chamillionaire, with Rolling Stone magazine hailing the new album, Ultimate Victory, as a ‘Manifesto,’ calling the 19 track tome: ‘The most personally reflective hip hop…since Slim Shady himself stepped up to the mic.’ Myspace, the world’s #1 social networking site is also welcoming the new album with open arms, featuring Chamillionaire on their much celebrated homepage, which will draw an amazing 21 million unique visitors in September alone. In a gesture of gratitude to the worldwide music audience that has helped make the rap star a mainstream icon, Chamillionaire has announced recently he will be giving away 600 Commemorative Plaques (worth $300 each) for fans that support Ultimate Victory when it is released. Chamillionaire was a big winner at the 1st Annual BET Hip Hop Awards last year, bringing home two trophies – the Rookie Of The Year Award and the prestigious Alltel’s Wireless People’s Champ Award. The prolific rhyme king has made historic gains in the digital, wireless and mobile entertainment arena, most recently joining forces with premier mobile products and services giant Jamster in a groundbreaking endorsement deal. Chamillionaire has provided Jamster with an exclusive ringtone, as well as a brand new version of his current hit single “Hip Hop Police.” Jamster is the only outlet to provide this exclusive version, offered on Jamster’s website www.jamster.com, and by texting CHAM to 75555. For Chamillionaire, the unique sponsorship is yet another breakthrough initiative from the visionary mixmaster, strengthening his already legendary connection with hip hop and mainstream music fans around the globe. It was his truly global legion of music followers who helped propel his platinum-plus debut album, The Sound of Revenge, to the top of the charts, making his breakthrough single “Ridin’” featuring Krayzie Bone, a Grammy winning, chart-topping hip hop classic and the first RIAA certified multi-platinum mastertone/ringtone in music history with over 4 million sold. Chamillionaire has teamed up with Krayzie Bone once again for his soon-to-be released second single from Ultimate Victory, “The Bill Collecta.” Currently on a promotional tour for the highly anticipated new album, Chamillionaire can be seen performing Hip Hop Police with Slick Rick on The Late Show with David Letterman tonight, Friday, September 14th at 11:30pm on CBS, Tuesday, September 18th on Total Request Live on MTV at 3:30pm and Wednesday, September 19th on 106 & Park on BET at 6pm. Chamillionaire will also make an appearance in celebration of his Best Hip Hop Video nomination at the BET Hip Hop Awards 2007 on Saturday, October 13 at the Atlanta Civic Center, which will premiere on the top rated cable network on Wednesday, October 17 at 8:pm EST.
