Learning somebody having a hobby like piercing needles in the skin or breaking glasses may put off many friends calling the person a weird. But for Raju his childhood hobbies are a blessing and help his family's survival. Today attempting such daredevil acts in public have become an integral part of Raju's life. It helps him earn his daily bread and butter. Raju showcased his hair-raising feats recently at the 'Hem Singh Parade' a fair being held at Kampu in Gwalior. Amidst applauding claps and whistles, Raju performs his dangerous feats. Moving from one fair to another he even performs in residential colonies. According to Raju, acute poverty compelled him to learn perform the feats to earn his livelihood. "I enjoy playing with death as it enables me to feed my family by performing these stunts. My children are also learning this art. I'm doing this for past 18 years. The blood that oozes out of the pores of my skin helps me earn my daily bread. Indeed, this has also been my hobby since childhood. But, today, I do it for a living," says Raju. Those who watch his show are thrilled. They admire Raju for such feats despite the risks which are nearly fatal. "It's is a very risky game, we admire Raju's breath-taking skills. Yes, it is entertaining to watch him perform in our colony but we cannot deny the risk in this fun for him and his companions. Of course, our good wishes are with him. May he get more exposure and reach new heights," said a member of the audience.
