Hip-hop community labels K-Fed a joke

Britney Spears’ wannabe rapper husband Kevin Federline has been slammed by prominent members of the hip hop community and labelled him a joke following his debut performance at the Teen Choice awards

XXL magazine editor in chief Elliot Wilson and King magazine executive editor Jermaine Hall have both ridiculed the lacklustre performance.

"I think we ignore him. He's a joke, basically. I just don't think he gets it. He doesn't get that he's Britney's man and it's hard to take him seriously." Contactmusic quoted Elliot Wilson as saying.

He says being married to Britney Spears is doing Federline's aspiring music career no favours.

"The thing that really hurts him is the fact that he's perceived as Britney's husband. You know, kinda like Britney's second - I don't even want to say second in command, but - he's like the Britney Boy. He's like Mr Spears, and it's kinda hard to get over that perception," Jermaine Hall added.

Kevin had even roped in his pregnant wife to introduce him before the performance.

"Please give a big welcome to my man, Kevin Federline. This show has been very good to me and my career over the years. And I'm hoping that it will be as good to our next performer," Britney said at the show.

Federline is expected to release his debut hip-hop album "Playing With Fire" in October.
