Duayne Weinger, Chairman of the Board of Hollywood Tans, LLC – the fastest growing tanning franchise in the United States as ranked by Entrepreneur Magazine – announces the appointment of franchising veteran J.J. Sorrenti to the position of Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. “I am pleased to announce that the Board of Directors has appointed J.J. Sorrenti as Chief Executive Officer of Hollywood Tans,” reports Weinger. “J.J. comes to Hollywood Tans after serving as the Chief Executive Officer at Huntington Learning Centers, and a successful track record at GNC.” During his time at Huntington Learning Centers, the company experienced the most rapid expansion growth in its 30 year history. Prior to his tenure at Huntington, Mr. Sorrenti spent nearly 15 years leading the franchise expansion at GNC, where he had P&L and store operations responsibility for 2,300 locations in the United States, and 700 global locations in 42 countries. “J.J. is a veteran of franchising,” reports Weinger. “He has spent nearly 20 years in the executive management of growing franchise companies – his leadership and proven expertise in developing people and processes will bring Hollywood Tans to new levels of growth and performance.” “Today’s consumer is interested in a safe, clean, predictable experience when they visit a branded tanning salon,” said Sorrenti. “I’m excited about Hollywood’s quick launch into the tanning industry, the wide consumer acceptance of the patented “stand-up” tanning technology, and the supportive relationship that their individual centers have established with the consumers in their market. Hollywood Tans – which developed a golden glow with its string of successful franchises throughout the United States – was recently acquired by a private equity investment firm, ACI Capital of New York. Since September of 1998, Hollywood Tans has offered franchises for establishment and operation of indoor tanning salons, a carefully designed concept that offers indoor tanning services, specialty products and Hollywood Tans privately labeled line of lotions.
