There was an improvement in the power situation in the capital today with authorities resorting to loadshedding for only a short duration.
The peak hour power demand in the capital was 3,454 MW at 4 pm, which was met succesfully, an official spokesperson said.
However, there was a disruption in power supply of 45 minutes due to low frequency at around 2 pm, sources said.
Yesterday, a freak tripping of a circuit due to flying of kites resulted in parts of the capital going without power for nearly an hour.
The capital got an additional 400 MW of electricity from Rajasthan yesterday, which helped tide over the shortfall.
The Rajghat plant supplied 120 MW.
The Naptha Jhakhri and Badarpur power plants are shut for maintainence work.
