An Indian sailor died in Sharjah last week after a severe heat stroke but his body is yet to be repatriated home, his family said. Swaranjith Singh, 20, died on August 17 in a hospital in Sharjah. For the young sailor's family, the wait for his body still continues as neither the local authorities nor his employers in Sharjah, the Kasab Shipping Company (KSC), have provided them any information. According to Preetham Singh, father of the deceased, the company has not given any reply regarding the repatriation of his son's body to India even after repeated phone calls. "I have made several telephone calls but no one has been able to tell me when we can expect to receive my son's body," he was quoted as saying in Khaleej Times today. Sharjah police said Swaranjith's body will be released only after the forensic laboratory report has been filed.
