The New England Direct Marketing Association (NEDMA) has announced Jill Kremins, Vice President Circulation Marketing, and Stephanie Kohn, Senior Manager Retention and Loyalty, The Boston Globe, as the featured speakers for NEDMA’s September 12, 2006, dinner meeting. Kremins and Kohns, in their program titled, "Loyalty and Retention Marketing: A Newsworthy Approach to One of Today’s Biggest Challenges," will share how the Boston Globe developed targeted retention programs to combat churn and stabilize its subscriber base. They will also talk about "Boston Globe Extras," the company’s new loyalty program that delivers membership benefits that customers find most appealing. "We've all heard that it costs 5 to 10 times more to acquire a new customer than to retain an existing one," states NEDMA President Craig Blake. "Developing creative programs that award customers for their loyalty -- programs that go beyond simply giving them 'points' -- is a strategy more companies will need to employ in order to retain existing customers and find new ones. We're excited to have 'in the trenches' experts Jill and Stephanie share their experience with us." All marketers are invited to attend the NEDMA dinner program Tuesday, September 12, 2006, at the Hilton Garden Inn in Waltham, MA. Reception and networking begin at 5:30 p.m., dinner and program start promptly at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $50 for non-members who register before September 8. For information and to register please call the NEDMA office at 781-237-1366 or send email.
