Ivo Karlovic has decided to opt out of Croatia's Davis Cup team that will face Britain at Wimbledon in the World Group play-offs Sep 21-23.
"I'm not going to London, sorry," news reaching here from Zagreb Tuesday quoted the world number 30 as saying in a text message to coach Goran Prpic.
Marina Mihelic, executive manager of the Croatian Tennis Federation, said Tuesday that Karlovic asked by e-mail Monday not to be included in the team.
The 28-year-old Karlovic had also missed Davis Cup matches in the past. He reportedly complained that the money was not fairly distributed among players.
Instead, the team of Ivan Ljubicic, Marin Cilic, Roko Karanusic and Lovro Zovko will take on Britons Tim Henman, Andy Murray, Jamie Murray and Jamie Baker over the Davis Cup weekend to decide which team stays in the elite world group in 2008.
