Mad Greens Inspired Eats to Open Fourth Location in Denver Art Museum Addition

By: Arts & Entertainment News

Today Mad Greens Inspired Eats, a locally grown fast casual restaurant, announced its newest location—adjacent to the Denver Art Museum’s Frederic C. Hamilton Building, the Daniel Libeskind-designed addition to the Museum campus.

Mad Greens will open the 5,000 square foot restaurant in October in the Museum Residences Building. The announcement follows an extensive selection process with the Denver Art Museum, which strived to offer both fine and casual dining for their patrons.

“Museum patrons now have a wide array of dining options to complement their visit,” noted DAM Director of Marketing Janet Meredith.

Mad Greens serves inspired salads, soups and panini’s in its three current locations on Denver's 16th Street Mall, in Cherry Creek North and in Centennial, Colo.. Co-owners Marley Hodgson and Dan Long anticipate a wider array of choices for Museum patrons, including coffee and breakfast options and a wine and cheese bar for the post-Museum experience.

“With our history in fine dining,” notes Long, a classically trained chef, “we look forward to providing a unique offering of boutique wines and local fine cheeses, as well as other interesting dining options.”

The DAM location comes on the heels of a series of announcements by Mad Greens. In June, the Denver-based entrepreneurs announced their first Boulder store in the 29th Street Shopping District.

Since opening in Centennial. Colo. in December 2004, the Mad Greens owners have invested more than $1 million in capital in the Denver economy and currently employ nearly 60 full and part time staff. The duo has plans to open a total of ten locations along the Front Range by 2008.

Both Hodgson and Long have supported the Denver Art Museum’s programs as sponsors of last year’s DAM Uncorked and through volunteer activities.

“The Hamilton building is a hallmark of Denver’s cultural growth,” said Hodgson. “With our roots in Denver, we are thrilled to be a part of the project.“
