Dancer Willi Ninja, who was the inspiration behind Madonna’s ‘Vogue’ music video, and was the star of the documentary ‘Paris Is Burning’, has died at the age of 45. According to the New York Post, he died on 2nd September due to an AIDS-related illness at New York Hospital, Queens. Ninja was a self-taught performer who stitched together a patchwork of a career that extended into the worlds of dance, fashion and music. Grieving his loss, Madonna said that it is a huge setback to those who drew inspiration from him, and looked up to him as their motivation. “He was a great cultural influence to me and hundreds of thousands of other people,” Madonna said.
