Following its recent launch, National Lampoon Home Entertainment (AMEX: NLN) today announced direct partnerships with key home entertainment partners including Blockbuster, Hollywood Video, Movie Gallery, Netflix, Ingram, VPD, Baker and Taylor, FYE, Suncoast, and more. With the formation of its home entertainment division National Lampoon is taking direct control of the development, acquisition, and distribution of all its home entertainment properties for the first time in the company’s history. Tom Daniels, President of Worldwide Distribution at National Lampoon, also announced that he is strengthening National Lampoon Home Entertainment by bringing on Victoria Sarro and Brandon Wong of M Media Group, both of whom have extensive backgrounds in marketing and releasing home entertainment titles. “It is an exciting step in National Lampoon’s growth to be taking direct control of our home entertainment properties,” stated Daniels. “The launch of National Lampoon Home Entertainment, along with our direct retail partnerships, will enable us to maximize revenues from our new titles, and from our feature library, which we are building for the first time in National Lampoon history.” National Lampoon plans to distribute twelve feature titles per year, four of which are original National Lampoon productions with the remaining eight being acquisitions. Some films will receive theatrical release through National Lampoon Releasing, while all titles will be released on DVD through National Lampoon Home Entertainment. First titles to be released by National Lampoon Home Entertainment, following theatrical distribution, will include the acquisition title “National Lampoon presents Electric Apricot: The Quest for Festeroo,” a mockumentary on the jam band scene which marks the directorial debut of legendary musician Les Claypool; “National Lampoon’s Homo Erectus,” which stars Adam Rifkin (Detroit Rock City, Underdog), who also wrote and directed; and “National Lampoon Presents Beach Party at the Threshold of Hell.” About National Lampoon National Lampoon, Inc.
