Pakistan government has decided to stop issuance of visas to citizens of three Central Asian States of Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan without clearance from its intelligence agencies. "The restriction has been imposed and Pakistan embassies in these capitals have been asked to stop issuing visas," a Pakistani official was quoted as saying by 'The News'. The official said it has been decided that diplomatic missions will continue to receive visa applications but visas can be issued only after clearance. The ministry will get clearance of each visa applicant from secret agencies and after clearance, the embassies will issue the visa, the official said. With this new government policy, the number of countries whose nationals would have to get clearance has risen to 18. Nationals of India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Iraq, Israel, Libya, Nigeria, Serbia, Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, Uganda and Yemen are already placed under this restrictions.
