Chennai, Feb 13: The Madras High Court today dismissed a quo warranto petition against Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and Electricity Minister Arcot N Veerasamy for their remarks allegedly against the judiciary, in view of the clarification issued by the latter.The Minister has said that his statement was "never intended to denigrate the court and certainly not to be intimidatory." Dismissing the petition filed by one K R Ramasamy for a direction to Karunanidhi and Veerasamy, questioning the authority under which they continued in office after allegedly violating their oath of office by making the remarks, Chief Justice A P Shah said "we don't want to create any further confrontation".The petition was heard by a division bench, comprising Justice Shah and Justice K Chandru.
