Members of Russian Orthodox Church protesting Madonna’s concert in Moscow on Sept 12 insist that the queen of pop’s use of religious symbols are a sign that she is seriously in need of “spiritual help”. Church spokesman Father Vsevolod Chaplin, told the Russian newspaper Pravda that Madonna, whose mock-crucifixion stunt during her current ‘Confessions’ world tour has raised the ire of people all over the world, is in need of “help”, and that her stunts show just that. "This lady has been glorifying human passions with the help of religious symbols for years--crosses, statues and beads. Now she thinks it is time for her to crucify herself in public. It means the singer is in need of spiritual help," E!Online quoted him, as saying. More than 50,000 people are expected to descend on Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium on Sept 12 to catch the Russian leg of the ‘Hung Up’ singer’s concert, a day after it was originally scheduled so as not to coincide with the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in the U.S. And, keeping the ‘Material Girl’ safe will be around 3,500 policemen, including riot police, dog squads and bomb technicians. "About 3,500 policemen, including 400 Omon fighters [riot specialists], as well as police with dogs, bomb technicians and soldiers from the Dzerhinsky special task division, will be ensuring security," General Vyacheslav Kozlov, chief of Moscow's public security police, told Interfax news service.
