Sunny Deol, who emerged as a diehard patriot in films like "Border", "Gadar - Ek Prem Katha" and "Hero", will be seen as a Pakistani nationalist in writer-producer-director-actor Ammtoje Mann's "Kaafila". "Kaafila" is called a path-breaking film in many ways. Probably for the first time in Indian cinema, the main protagonist in the film is a Pakistani patriot. For Sunny Deol, this is a complete role-reversal because in the past he has played anti-Pakistani roles. As a result, Pakistanis in Pakistan and other countries like the US and Britain shunned his films. In fact, in the US and Britain, distributors refuse to buy films starring Sunny. But with Mannerism Films (P) Ltd's "Kaafila", Sunny is expected to hit the right chord with the Pakistani audiences. The Pakistani connection of the film does not end here - both the female leads are from Pakistan -- Sana Nawaz is a top film actress from Pakistan and Mona Lisa is a well-known face on Pakistan television. The film is slated for an October/November release.
