Capitalizing on its access to Hollywood’s biggest celebrities and its success covering breaking show business news, TV Guide Network announced today that it will launch a one-hour entertainment news magazine daily show, HOLLYWOOD 411, slated for January 2008. HOLLYWOOD 411 is a major multi-million dollar TV Guide Network in-house production, which will include in-studio and field correspondents, with news bureaus in Hollywood and New York. In addition, TV Guide Network also announced that seasoned news and entertainment producer Jerry Burke has joined TV Guide as senior executive producer of HOLLYWOOD 411. He will oversee a dedicated programming and production team based in Hollywood, as well as a news bureau in New York. Mr. Burke’s appointment is effective immediately, and he will report to Matthew Singerman, senior vice president, programming and production, TV Guide Network. “HOLLYWOOD 411’s hour-long format will leverage our network’s strengths in covering entertainment and celebrity news in-depth, and will help us distinguish the program from some of the other entertainment offerings currently available on TV,” said Mr. Singerman. “We’re very excited to have Jerry join our team and believe that he will bring the necessary leadership and creative vision to make HOLLYWOOD 411 unique, compelling and timely for our viewers.” Mr. Burke joins TV Guide Network from Fox News Channel, where he was executive producer of daytime programming for five years. Under his leadership, Fox News Channel’s ratings increased 300 percent and the network achieved the number one position in cable news. Prior to Fox, Mr. Burke spent many years in entertainment news as bureau chief for Extra and news director for VH1. Mr. Burke has also served as a producer at Inside Edition, Hard Copy and A Current Affair. HOLLYWOOD 411 will engage viewers with the day’s top news stories in entertainment, as well as on-scene interviews with today’s biggest stars in TV, film and music. Anchored by popular TV Guide Network host Madison Michele, HOLLYWOOD 411 will cover entertainment news with a fun, fair perspective. The show will be produced at TV Guide Network’s Hollywood studio and production facilities at the iconic Hollywood & Highland complex. The show’s New York-based bureau will officially open its doors in December at Gemstar-TV Guide’s new corporate offices in Bryant Park. More detail regarding HOLLYWOOD 411, including additional on-air talent along with premiere date and time, will be released prior to the show’s debut.
