If there was one incident in his life that Tom Cruise certainly has ‘deep regrets’ about, it would be the time he criticised actress Brooke Shields for taking anti-depressants to overcome post-partum depression – thus sparking off a very public verbal battle between the two. And, the news comes not from any unnamed source, but from producer of Cruise’ flick ‘War of the Worlds’ Kathleen Kennedy who insists that the actor ‘deeply regrets’ what he said. "That, he deeply regrets," Contactmusic quoted her, as telling the New York Daily News. In 2005 Shields praised anti-depressants for helping her fight depression after the birth of her elder daughter Rowan in 2003 in her autobiography ‘Down Came The Rain: My Journey Through Post-Partum Depression’. However Cruise sparked of a war of words when he criticised Shields on national television during a promotional tour for his movie ‘War of the Worlds’, stating that vitamins not drugs should be used to cure post-partum depression. "Here is a woman, and I care about Brooke Shields because I think she is an incredibly talented woman. You look at, where has her career gone? When you talk about postpartum, you can take people today, women, and what you do is you use vitamins. You can use vitamins to help a woman through those things," Contactmusic quoted him, as telling TV show Access Hollywood at the time. Shields fired back at the actor labelling his comments as ‘dangerous’. "His comments are dangerous. Tom should stick to saving the world from aliens and let women decide what treatment is best," she said.
