Xirrus, Inc., the only provider of high-performance, long-range Wi-Fi products, announced today that the Johnson Ferry Baptist Church (JFBC) in Marietta, Ga. has deployed Xirrus Wi-Fi Arrays throughout its high-density classroom areas to support the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, providing church members, seminary students and staff with a reliable, high-performing Wi-Fi network. JFBC has been serving as a remote campus for the Seminary to hold classes in Atlanta for over a year and selected Xirrus to upgrade its current Wi-Fi infrastructure. The legacy Wi-Fi architecture at JFBC couldn’t scale to meet the increased performance and density demands the church needed for its classroom areas. Johnson Ferry Baptist Church will use the Xirrus’ Wi-Fi solution to support the increased number of users of its classroom facilities and staff offices, delivering enough bandwidth and coverage area to ensure a reliable Wi-Fi network. “When Johnson Ferry Baptist began remotely housing the seminary’s classes, our older Wi-Fi architecture could not support the amount of people who were now using it,” said Mickey Taylor, technology director, JFBC. “The Xirrus solution provides a high speed wireless network that can handle the increasing requirements of our education space.” “Johnson Ferry Baptist Church needed to increase its Wi-Fi bandwidth and capabilities due to an increase in user population,” said Matt McCook, territory manager at Xirrus. “The Wi-Fi solution we set up has enough bandwidth and power to support the church, Seminary students and allows for future user growth.” About JFBC Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, led by Senior Pastor Bryant Wright, is a growing 7,500 member church in metro Atlanta, Georgia with active programming for all ages seven days per week. JFBC hosts the remote campus of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary offering undergraduate, masters and doctoral degree programs. Almost 500 NOBTS students are enrolled in night classes held at the JFBC campus. For more information on JFBC, check out www.johnsonferry.org. About New Orleans Baptist Seminary New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary was founded in 1917 by an act of the Southern Baptist Convention at their annual meeting that year in New Orleans. Originally named “Baptist Bible Institute,” New Orleans Seminary was the first theological institution to be created by direct action of the Southern Baptist Convention. It was originally created as an undergraduate institution modeled after Moody Bible Institute. Gradually, the school began to move toward graduate level training, and in 1946 the Convention renamed the institution “New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.” Located on a beautiful 75-acre campus with 12 additional acres and more than 100 buildings, over 20,000 men and women have prepared for ministry at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
